2026 Intramural Open: All The Details

The 2026 CrossFit Open & the CrossFit Good Fortune Intramural Open are quickly approaching!! The first workout will drop on Thursday February 26th. Here you'll find all the finer details to reference back to!

Register for the Intramural Open Here!

  • Register by Monday 2/23 for 10 Bonus Points
  • Last minute sign ups will be allowed during the first weekend, but sign up early to allow time for team assignments

Register for the Official CrossFit Open Here!

  • Not required to participate in the Intramural Open, but you can earn 5 Bonus Points for registering for the Official CrossFit Open

Scheduling:

Open Heats will run each Saturday during the Open at 9AM, 10AM & 11AM. Heats will not be open for reservations until 24 hours. This will allow time for capacity adjustments to be made depending upon the workout. This allows for appropriate timing, spacing & equipment considerations.

Athlete briefings will be held at 9AM & 10AM to go over the workout, movements standards, scaling options and to assign judges for each athlete. Please arrive early to warm up, cheer on your fellow athletes, and judge (if you've volunteered).

If you cannot make a Saturday morning, we will do our best to accommodate another workout time. Open gym will be available on Friday February 27th & Friday March 6th at 6:30pm for Open workouts.

Note: Christine & Ian will be traveling & unavailable Friday March 13th &  Saturday March 14th. Our fantastic coaching team will get your through the final week of heats. Sunday March 15th will be available by appointment to get your workout in if you need to.

Saturday 8:00AM Classes:

8:00AM Classes on Saturdays during the Open will run like any other class. The Open workout will be programmed, but judges will not be available unless requested ahead of time.

No Olympic Weightlifting During the Open:

Due to heat scheduling. There will be no Olympic Weightlifting classes during the 3 weeks of the Open. Programming will be available if you'd like to do that during an Open gym time during the week.

Week Definition: Complete your Intramural workout during these times

Week 1: Thursday February 26 - Wednesday March 4

Week 2: Thursday March 5 - Wednesday March 11

Week 3: Thursday March 12 - Wednesday March 19

Note: Official CrossFit Open workouts will need to be completed & scores submitted by Monday at 8PM EST.

Teams:

Teams will be assigned after all early registrations have been completed. We are creating 4 teams this year & team names will be after Boston sports teams! Below you'll find the team names & their color schemes. Keep these in mind for our final theme week!

  • Patriots (Red, White, Blue)
  • Banshees (Red, White, Gray, Navy)
  • Bruins (Black & Gold)
  • Fleet (Deep Green, Oceanic Blue, White)

Themes:

Last year was the first time we did theme weeks and it was met with great enthusiasm so we're bringing it back! Participating in the weekly theme will earn you 5 Bonus Points

Week 1: Country Western

Week 2: Disney Week

Week 3: Team Week: Colors, Logos, Merch

Scoring:

Individuals will earn points for their team with a combination of workout performance, workout intent & bonus points. Full breakdown below.

  • Workout Points
    • Points distributed based on leaderboard for the workout
    • RX: 1:1 Points
      • RX Definition: You have completed the workout as prescribed
    • Scaled: .8:1
      • Scaled Definition: Scaling any part for the workout
    • Scoring Bonus:
      • If you achieve the stimulus/target of the workout you earn a .2:1 scoring bonus. Intents & Targets will be set each week. Note, if you come in under/over the target you do not get the bonus.
      • Example: If the RX target is to achieve 100-150 reps and you scale the workout and get 200 you don't get the bonus.
  • Bonus Points (5 points each, 1x per week)
    • Completing the Open workout between Friday-Sunday of the workout week
    • 3 Class Check-Ins during the Week (Includes CrossFit, Gymnastics or Olympic Weightlifting Only. Open Gym does not count for these bonus points)
    • Completing/Logging the monthly challenge for each day of the week
    • Doing something with fitness outside of the gym & tagging us on social media (Internal Social Feed in PushPress or Instagram Tag)
      • 1 per week only
      • Example: Went for a run, hike, playing a sport, doing yoga. How are you using your fitness outside the gym
    • Judging a heat
    • Participation in the week's theme

Post-Open Celebration: Friday March 20th, 6:30PM

We'll be hosting a Post-Open Celebration at the gym on Friday March 20th at 6:30PM. We'll have food and beverages available & you're welcome to bring something to share.

Team winner & prizes will be announced at the party.
